Senior Cost Controller

Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2's construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. • Coordinates the preparation of project budgets review (EACs)
• On a monthly basis:
• Participates to the monthly cost report issuance with the preparation of the Cost Value Reconciliation Report (CVR)
• Conducts analysis between earned value and planned value
• Conducts analysis on CVR variances:
  Self-Delivery Analysis (outputs, manhours, rates, quantities, machine efficiencies) and Subcontracted works (coordinates with QS adequate analysis of the main changes (quantities, rates, CEs))
• Prepares end of site trend/Rolling Forecast
• Prepare and present the monthly cost report (Performance, KPI, variance analysis, resources utilisation)
• Maintains monitoring systems for all cost indicators, targets and standards Management & Performances requested
• Prepares Ad hoc analysis of costs, scenarios, efficiencies, if & when requested
• Alerts management on budget variations and proposes improvement axis & actions plans to prevent recurring variations
• Prepare reliable and up to date spend forecast based on progress, productivity, and risk assessments
• Suggests ways to reduce costs, enhances revenues and improve profits
• Improves business efficiency where money is concerned
• Makes best practices and indicators recommendations to management
• Alert management for all irregularities detected
• Supervise and mentor a team of cost controllers (Jnr and mid-experience)

• Relevant experience gained within a contracting/projects environment, ideally as a Project Cost Accountant or Project Cost Controller.
• Excellent knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
• Experience of both building and leading high performing teams.
• Strong communication skills and an ability to command respect at all levels of the organisation.
• Driving license.
