Central Birmingham (on site 5 days per week)

Contract:

6 month FTC (strong potential to extend) Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Overview:
An outstanding opportunity for an ambitious Interim Assistant Accountant to join a high-performing finance team within a well-established Birmingham-based organisation.

This role offers broad exposure across month-end, reporting, and transactional finance, making it ideal for a driven candidate looking to step up and further develop their accounting skill set in a large, structured finance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supporting month-end close including journals, accruals and prepayments
* Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
* Supporting management accounts preparation
* Analysing financial data and investigating variances
* Assisting with audit queries and reporting requirements
* Supporting transactional teams where required
* Driving process improvements and efficiencies

About You:

* Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a varied Accounts Assistant role
* Previous interim/contract experience essential
* Proven ability to hit the ground running in fast-paced teams
* Ideally AAT qualified or actively studying (ACCA/CIMA desirable)
* Experience with in medium to large finance teams
* Strong Excel and analytical skills
* High attention to detail with a proactive mindset
