We’re excited to be recruiting an experienced Pension Specialist Consultant for a 6-month fixed-term role! This role will lead and support a series of targeted pension consolidation, compliance, and governance improvement activities across predominantly DC based pension schemes. You will work in a live operational setting, collaborating closely with Payroll, HR Systems, and external pension partners to identify issues, drive remediation, and deliver practical, risk-based improvements.

This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical pension knowledge with strong project management capability and a hands‑on, solution‑focused mindset.

About the role
  • Provide expert advice on pension administration, scheme rules, regulatory requirements, and best practice.
  • Lead and drive project‑based pension consolidation and complex improvement activities, ensuring alignment across multiple DC schemes and supporting the development of a future pension offering.
  • Build upon existing work to assess current processes, governance structures, and compliance gaps, producing clear, risk‑based evaluations and practical recommendations.
  • Act as a key contributor to the refinement of internal policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to strengthen compliance and operational integrity, excellence and efficiency.
  • Engage with external pension providers and internal stakeholders to ensure coordinated, accurate and timely execution of pension activities.
  • Prepare documentation, dashboards, and progress reports for People Leadership and internal governance forums.
  • Ensure all activities are delivered within required timelines and to a high standard of accuracy and control.
  • Identify key opportunities to engage and communicate with employees regarding their pension savings.
About you
  • Proven experience in DC pension projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UK pension regulations.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder skills.
  • Analytical, detail‑focused, and proactive.
