Director - Valuations (Living Sector)
Location: Midlands
Employment Type: Full‑time, Permanent
Salary: £70,000- £80,000 plus market leading bonus and benefits
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Director to join a leading Operational Living Valuations team
, specialising in Build to Rent (BTR) and wider Living sectors. This team is recognised as a market leader in the UK, valuing a significant proportion of BTR assets nationwide and offering unrivalled access to high‑quality market data, advanced valuation technology, and a broad client base across residential investment.
This role provides the opportunity to work on some of the UK's most high‑profile residential, mixed‑use and large‑scale development schemes, delivering valuation, advisory and strategic insights across the BTR, Single Family Housing, Purpose‑Built Student Accommodation, and Co‑Living sectors.
You will be joining a high‑performing, collaborative team working closely with experts across valuations, capital markets, development, planning and consultancy.
Key Responsibilities Valuation & Advisory- Deliver valuation and advisory work for purposes including loan security, financial reporting, fund reporting, investment analysis and strategic guidance.
- Manage day‑to‑day valuations across a broad range of asset types, including development sites, investment portfolios and single assets.
- Conduct physical property inspections and review inspections undertaken by junior team members.
- Review and approve comparable evidence, undertake valuation modelling (including DCF), sensitivity analysis, and prepare clear, high-quality valuation reports.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality advice.
- Support business development activities, attend networking events, and contribute to pitches and RFPs.
- Provide enhanced client reporting using templates, dashboards, SharePoint and other tools.
- Work closely with colleagues across UK and international teams on valuation processes.
- Lead or contribute to quality control, peer reviewing and compliance tasks.
- Support and mentor junior valuers, with the opportunity to manage a small team.
- Share market intelligence and support internal innovation initiatives.
- Lead business development initiatives and represent the team externally.
- Oversee and review complex valuation instructions.
- Provide strategic input to team direction and growth.
- Manage team members and contribute to wider leadership responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Real Estate, Surveying, or related discipline.
- MRICS (or equivalent) with relevant PQE experience.
- Strong track record managing client relationships and delivering valuations.
- Proven understanding of valuation methodologies, regulatory frameworks and market drivers.
- Proficiency in valuation tools such as Argus Enterprise/Developer and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple instructions, delegate effectively and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Enjoys working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
