New Leaf Search has partnered with an Asset Finance specialist in its search for an Underwriter.

Location:

UK, Birmingham / Midlands (Hybrid).

An excellent opportunity to join a growing underwriting function within a dynamic asset finance business.

You will deliver risk-based credit assessment across a broad range of proposals, ensuring strong governance, commercial judgement and consistent decision-making while supporting sales growth.

• Assess and underwrite incoming proposals from across the Group
• Analyse financial statements, cashflow data and credit reports to determine risk exposure
• Make informed underwriting decisions within delegated authority
• Prepare and contribute to Credit Papers for senior stakeholders
• Provide clear, structured feedback to Sales and Support teams
• Support new initiatives, pilot schemes and process improvements
• Participate in post-payout audits and continuous improvement activity
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policy

• Experience in underwriting or junior underwriting within Financial Services, ideally Asset Finance
• Candidates with some credit experience (not fully trained underwriters) will also be considered – with increased office presence to support development
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Organised, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong Microsoft Office and systems capability

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly Asset Finance and Leasing.

You will also require relevant IN-COUNTRY experience; without which, your application will NOT be considered.
