As our Financial Administrator, you’ll be at the heart of our day-to-day financial operations! You’ll help keep everything running smoothly, accurately, and compliantly - from processing transactions to supporting reporting and audits.

In short: you’ll be the calm, organised presence that keeps our numbers in line and our members supported.

Responsibilities
  • Maintainingthepurchaseledger and ensuring that accruals and prepayments have been posted accurately.
  • Ensuring theaccuratepayment of invoices, staffexpensesand other outgoing costs.
  • Processing all types of business payments in an efficient andtimelymanner.
  • Issuing chequesin a timely manner, accurately and recorded correctly.
  • Monitoringuncleared cheques and raise any issues.
  • Supporting the smooth running of the annual external audit.
  • Assisting in the preparation of bank reconciliations and associated journals andmaintainingthe bank reconciliation system.
  • Producing anddisseminatingfinancial reports.
  • Undertaking regular training and be knowledgeable about the financial systems of the Credit Union.
  • Ensuring a full understanding of the Credit Union’s policies and procedures.
  • Delivering an effective service within the finance system which supports management and staff.
  • Positively contributing suggestions for process improvements.
  • Understanding the financial policies and procedures and apply them to work activities.
  • Complying withdata protection legislation and tomaintainstrict confidentiality and security in dealing with all information relating to the Credit Union and its members,in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Working to the policies and procedures including relevant legislation and guidelines set down by the Credit Union, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Prudential Regulation Authority, the Financial Ombudsman Service, the Information Commissioner’sOfficeand any other standards as instructed in the course of your duties.

  • Resourceful and able to multi-task
  • Ateam player who is approachable and able to work alongside others
  • Experience in providing general administrative and financial administrative support
  • Evidence of ability to work with numbers and written communication
  • Confident in using MS Office Package, proficient in Excel
  • Competent with IT systems
  • Experience working in a financial or office environment is desirable but not essential
