Corporate Tax Manager (60/40 split typical compliance to advisory)

Birmingham

Salary up to £65,000 (depending on skills, experience, and qualification)

The important work you will be doing:

  • Reviewing corporation tax returns and computations for a varied client base
  • Contributing to a range of advisory projects, including succession planning, management buyouts, share schemes, and R&D tax relief
  • Handling tax queries on behalf of clients
  • Liaising with HM Revenue & Customs and other third parties as required
  • Communicating directly with clients to resolve queries arising during the preparation of annual tax returns and ongoing advisory work
  • Supporting senior colleagues in the delivery of tax planning advice
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring all corporate tax returns and computations are prepared and submitted within statutory deadlines
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Advising clients on tax liabilities and payment deadlines
  • Managing work in progress across your portfolio, ensuring fees are raised and issued promptly upon completion
  • Effectively managing time to achieve strong recovery rates while accurately charging time to clients
  • Meeting with prospective clients to discuss their tax affairs and requirements
