An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant, who will support the Group Financial Controller (GFC) to ensure that the Trust and its subsidiary companies (the 'Group') comply with all statutory and mandatory external financial reporting requirements.
Main duties of the jobSupport the Group Financial Controller (GFC) to ensure that the Trust and its subsidiary companies (the 'Group') comply with all statutory and mandatory external financial reporting requirements. This comprises two key areas:
- Preparation of the Trusts' monthly NHSE returns, board finance reports (SAGE and Oracle) and annual accounts.
- Oversight of the General Ledger and Financial Accounts team. To maintain the overall integrity, including the completeness and accuracy of the Group's chart of accounts.
Reconciliation of the Trust's annual budgetary process.

- CCAB recognised accountancy qualification
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Experience of monthly reporting cycles and population of month end reports
- Experience of working with other finance colleagues to ensure monthly tasks are completed within tight deadlines
- Experience post qualification within a complex organisation
- Experience of working with computerised financial systems
- Experience leading team including objective setting, performance reviews and performance management
- Experience of implementing change
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders with conflicting priorities
- IT literate -- spreadsheets, databases, pivot tables EDCL or equivalent
- NHS knowledge of reporting
- Ability to analyse highly complex data, diagnose problems, identify solutions and undertake business case benefits analysis
- Use own initiative while knowing when to consult.
- Logical thinker with sound analytical skills, able to deal with large volumes of complex data and perform highly complex analysis of financial data.
