The Indirect Tax (ITX) Compliance Centre of Excellence is seeking passionate individuals to join our Tax Compliance Academy. This is more than a job – it’s the start of a dynamic career with opportunities to gain deep expertise in Indirect Tax and technology solutions at PwC.
As a member of the Academy you will build experience in Indirect Tax compliance working closely with the wider team. Responsibilities include preparing draft indirect tax returns using our advanced technologies and managing a portfolio of clients to ensure high-quality outputs. You will also contribute to developing strong client relationships maximising their potential and enhancing the value we deliver.
Key Responsibilities- Gain a strong foundation of VAT knowledge and transferable skills.
- Two-year programme of structured upskilling and development including focused training sessions, on-the-job shadowing and strong coaching and support.
- Completion of ATT Foundation VAT Compliance qualification.
- Team and peer group support.
- Building global VAT technical skills and global Indirect Tax compliance awareness.
- Opportunity to work on complex and challenging clients to deliver a high-quality service.
- Learning about PwC services, network, values and culture.
- Working alongside professionals who are leaders in the field of tax compliance.

This experience does not need to be from a professional services or tax setting but you should clearly indicate within your personal statement at the top of your CV how you have developed the skills we require.
- No prior tax knowledge or tax experience is needed.
- Technology skills and curiosity – evidence of staying up to date with new and evolving technology.
- Adaptability & continuous learning mindset – able to act quickly to understand and adjust to any new environment.
- Effective time management & self‑leadership – able to plan and prioritise work around multiple demands/projects and deliver to a deadline.
- Relationship building & team player – able to work as part of a team sharing and collaborating effectively with others creating a positive team spirit.
- Strong literacy numeracy skills & computer proficiency – ability to read and understand complex processes, data and instructions; experience using Excel, Word or equivalent software/systems.
