Job Title: Interim Senior Finance Officer

Contract Length: 6 months

Day Rate: £150 - £200 per day

Location: Birmingham

Working Pattern: 4 days on-site, 1 day remote

Start Date: ASAP

Are you highly organised, detail‑driven, and confident working with financial data? This is a great opportunity to join a supportive finance team as an Interim Senior Finance Officer on a 6 month tempoary basis. The Senior Finance Officer will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and smooth running of core financial processes.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys pace, financial administration, and working with numbers - with the ability to communicate well across a finance function to ensure relevant information is recorded and shared.

You'll work closely with the Management Accountants to ensure they have the necessary financial information for budgeting and forecasting activities. You will also support the month‑end close, helping to keep the finance function running efficiently.

• Process and maintain accurate financial data and records
• Support with reconciliations, journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Assist with preparing financial schedules and month‑end documentation
• Help ensure financial systems and data remain accurate and up to date
• Manage finance inbox queries and provide administrative support
• Support Management Accountants with month‑end close activities
• Maintain organised financial records for audit and compliance
• Provide general support across the finance team as required

• Have expereince working in data driven finance/accounting supporting role
• Take pride in accuracy and organisation, and making a difference within a finance function
• Have a good understanding of basic accounting principles
• Be a confident Excel user and a proficient user of financial systems
• Have an ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks
• Be a strong communicator with good teamwork skills
• Have experience supporting month-end processes
• Have exposure to management accounting teams
• You must be Birmingham based, as the role requires 4 days per week in the offices
• Be available to start at short notice
