Overview

Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2's construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. Join a diverse team of nearly 9,000 people from over 80 nationalities delivering major assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Environment and Consent Advisor

Location: Based in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. This region covers a complex urban environment and includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel, Interchange Station, and crossings of three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).

• Ensure compliance with the Construction Code of Practice and environmental requirements, and support development/implementation of EMS documentation and systems.
• Develop environmental mitigation measures, monitoring regimes and systems to meet Environmental Minimum Requirements.
• Manage environmental risks and opportunities, maintaining registers and driving agreed actions.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders and clients, promoting environmental awareness through training and communications.
• Report environmental performance and understand financial impacts of environmental decisions to support best project outcomes.

• Strong understanding of environmental legislation and environmental management systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively to achieve best-practice outcomes.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organised with strong determination to see tasks through to completion.
• Workplace environmental experience, membership of a professional environmental body, and a proactive approach to new challenges.
