Associate Transport Planner – Birmingham

Join Rodgers Leask as an Associate Transport Planner based in Longbridge, Birmingham
. This is a Full‑time role within the Traffic & Transportation department.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the expansion of the Longbridge Transport Planning Team.
  • Deliver projects from concept to completion, providing imaginative, integrated engineering solutions that are rigorously designed, cost‑effective and sustainable.
  • Prepare Transport Notes, Statements and Assessments;
    Travel Plans; and support planning appeals, local plan examination hearings or similar.
  • Manage multiple projects and key client contacts simultaneously.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Regional Director and Transport Planning Associate Director.
Qualifications
  • 12+ years’ experience in transport planning and a desire to grow, establish, and manage your own team.
  • Proven track record of developing new business, managing multiple contracts, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent report‑writing, organisational, communication and presentation skills.
  • Member of a professional institution such as the CIHT, IHE, TPS (preferably chartered via TPP or CMILT).
  • Knowledge of sustainable and active travel innovations and design standards.
  • Experience with DfT Webtag, microsimulation modelling (VISSIM or PARAMICS Discovery), junction capacity modelling (Junctions 10, Lin Sig/Quick green), and industry software (TRICS, TEMPro).
  • Preliminary highway design experience (AutoCAD, relevant guidance).
  • Competent use of GIS packages (QGIS, ArcGIS, Map Info, Basemap TRACC, Podaris).
