This role is ideal for candidates with experience selling solutions or technologies into the UK water industry or water utilities sector.
A growing and innovative engineering company specialising in water and wastewater treatment technologies is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager / UK Sales Manager to drive growth across the UK water sector.
This role is ideal for someone with a technical background in mechanical, process or environmental engineering who has moved into sales or business development within the water industry.
You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities with water utilities, contractors and industrial clients, promoting a portfolio of specialist water treatment technologies and solutions.

The Role
As the Business Development Manager/ Sales Manager, you will manage the full sales cycle, from identifying opportunities through to closing deals and developing long-term client relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

* Developing new business opportunities within the UK water and wastewater sector

* Managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract award

* Building strong relationships with water utilities, contractors and industrial clients

* Preparing technical and commercial proposals

* Responding to tenders and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)

* Maintaining an active and well-managed sales pipeline within the CRM system

* Working closely with engineering and commercial teams to develop solutions

* Attending industry meetings, client visits and sector events

* Supporting the development of long-term sales strategies
The ideal candidate would have a strong technical understanding of water treatment technologies and a proven ability to win new business.
Ideal candidate requirements include:

* Experience of the UK water industry

* Experience in technical sales, business development or solution sales

* Engineering background in Mechanical, Process, Environmental or similar

* Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes

* Proven ability to generate and win new business opportunities

* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills

* Excellent presentation and communication skills

* Full UK driving licence

* Willingness to travel across the UK as required and potential overseas travel when required
Candidates with experience selling water treatment technologies, filtration systems, process equipment or engineered solutions will be particularly well suited.
