Each practice plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy, offering innovative solutions that balance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.

Are you ready to take on the role of Hydropower Lead, in our rapidly expanding hydro team? You will be responsible for undertaking both a technical role on projects within our energy business and a business role comprising team leadership and business development. You will be aware that the hydro has a strong international dimension. While collaborating with hydro colleagues across the globe there will be a focus on projects in the UK and Ireland and countries throughout Europe and India (EURI).

Projects may include all stages of design from feasibility to detailed design and site construction supervision both in the UK and internationally. Our clients are a mix between large energy utility generators and private developers and contractors.

Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Develop and lead a high performing team, project delivery and maintain client, supply chain and internal relationships on an international basis.
  • Review and generate technical and contractual information from both internal and external sources.
  • Serve as a program manager, project manager, or technical lead, directing teams on major hydropower projects and programs.
  • Lead major hydropower projects, leading major proposals, and engaging with clients.
  • Support senior leaders in developing business strategies for hydropower based on market trends and identify and pursue opportunities within the business line and adjacent sectors.
  • Lead client‑facing activities to develop business with existing clients and win work with new clients, build strong relationships with clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders related to the market sector.
  • Develop strategies and capture plans for major pursuits, aligning with AECOM’s business development strategies and technical capabilities.
  • Maintain regular interaction with clients to ensure satisfaction with AECOM services and engage with project delivery personnel to proactively address client feedback on team performance.
