A growing sensor technology company in Birmingham is looking to appoint a Senior Electronics Engineer to support the development of next-generation analogue and FPGA-based sensor platforms.

This Senior Electronics Engineer role will work closely with the Electronics Engineering Manager and play a central part in the design, prototyping and testing of advanced electronic hardware.

The Senior Electronics Engineer will be part of a small, technically strong team delivering high-performance impedance-based sensor systems for industrial environments.

The Role – Senior Electronics Engineer

As Senior Electronics Engineer, you will:

* Verify schematic designs

* Develop PCB layouts with strong control of analogue signal integrity

* Assemble and test prototypes where required

* Design for EMC compliance

* Assist in embedded firmware development and version control using Git / Git Hub

* Support FPGA development using VHDL / Verilog

* Work with AMD Zynq reference designs

* Select components based on availability, cost and lifecycle

* Interface with quality teams for BOM control and compliance

The Senior Electronics Engineer will work across both first-generation and next-generation sensor platforms within a hands-on R&D environment.

Requirements – Senior Electronics Engineer

* Degree-qualified in Electronics or Electrical Engineering

* Strong analogue or mixed-signal design experience

* Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, KiCad or similar

* Understanding of EMC principles

* Exposure to embedded systems or FPGA development desirable

* Comfortable working within a small engineering team
