A growing and well-established electrical contractor based in Gloucester is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their busy Contracts team.
This is a senior-level opportunity working closely with the Directors, pricing a broad range of electrical projects across commercial, industrial and refurbishment sectors (excluding new-build housing). The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the estimating function as the business continues to grow.
For the right individual, there is genuine scope to influence systems, processes and long-term pre-construction strategy.
The company is committed to providing the tools required to succeed – including estimating software flexibility, A1 plotter access, a quiet office environment and high-spec equipment to support high-level tendering.
The RolePrepare detailed and competitive electrical tenders from first principles
Analyse drawings, specifications and technical documentation
Produce accurate take-offs and pricing schedules
Liaise with Directors, engineers and client-side estimators
Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations
Manage cost control throughout the tender process
Identify value engineering opportunities
Assess commercial risk and develop mitigation strategies
Maintain organised documentation for audit and handover
The position is predominantly office-based (80-90%), with occasional site visits and client meetings as required.

Candidate ProfileProven experience as an Electrical Estimator within an electrical contracting environment
Strong technical understanding of electrical building services
Comfortable managing multiple tenders simultaneously
Strong analytical and commercial skills
Proficient in estimating software and Excel
Organised and deadline-driven
Able to work independently within a senior role
All qualified estimators will be considered – this is not limited strictly to candidates already earning at the top of the salary band.
