Salary: £55,000–£75,000 per annum
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Hours: Monday–Friday | Day Shift with Flexible Start & Finish Times
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

• Take ownership of the site’s control and automation systems, ensuring they operate reliably and efficiently.
• Develop and deliver preventive, predictive and scheduled electrical maintenance programmes.
• Support planned shutdowns, system upgrades and long‑term improvement projects.
• Lead the development, integration and maintenance of PLC, SCADA and OT‑based systems.
• Execute proactive and reactive maintenance across automated machinery and electrical infrastructure.
• Diagnose and rectify faults within electrical circuits, control panels, and PLC‑driven equipment.
• Manage industrial communication networks including Profinet and Modbus
  , ensuring robust performance and cybersecurity.
• Support automation and digitisation initiatives by contributing to design, testing, integration and commissioning activities.
• Work in accordance with all company safety procedures, Safe Systems of Work and engineering standards.

• Proven experience in controls, automation or electrical engineering within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong programming capability with Siemens or Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley PLC platforms.
• Hands‑on experience developing or modifying SCADA systems (WinCC desirable).
• Understanding of industrial network architecture and communication protocols.
• Awareness of industrial cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience supporting installation, commissioning or upgrade projects.
• HV competency or Authorised Person training – beneficial but not essential.
• Minimum 2 years working within a fast‑moving production or engineering environment.
