BMS Commissioning Engineer
Mobile - Birmingham (West Midlands)
Salary up to £55,000
The RoleAs a BMS Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality BMS installations from point of commissioning through to project handover.
This is a site-based role, primarily within the West Midlands, with occasional travel outside the region (travel expenses paid).
Key Responsibilities- Commission BMS systems in accordance with project specifications and design
- Documentation
- Carry out point-to-point checks, functional testing, and system validation
- Ensure all commissioning activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard
- Complete commissioning documentation, test sheets, and handover packs
- Produce clear and accurate progress reports for the Project Manager
- Identify and resolve technical issues on site
- Maintain design integrity throughout the commissioning process
- Write, modify and optimise BMS software and graphics when required
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and apprentices
- Liaise professionally with clients, main contractors and other trades on site
- While the majority of BMS software is developed by our Technical Manager, there will be occasions where you will be required to write or adapt software independently

Essential Requirements- Minimum 5 years' experience within the BMS industry
- Proven experience commissioning BMS systems on live projects
- Experience with one or more of the following systems:
- Delta
- Trend
- Cylon ABB
- Tridium
- Distech
- Ability to write, modify and fault-find BMS software
- Experience modifying graphics
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Good time management and ability to work independently
- CSCS Skill Card (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
- Experience working on large commercial or multi-site projects
