Experience:

Minimum 2 years in a technical role Work Lyf Group are recruiting for a Technical Manager on behalf of a well-established SME specialising in kiln furniture and technical ceramics, supplying customers across the UK and worldwide. The role involves supporting a wide range of industrial sectors, including traditional ceramics, EV battery production, automotive, aerospace, electronics, and more. Youll join a small, collaborative team, applying materials science and engineering principles to develop solutions for diverse customer applications.

A two-year succession plan is in place, during which you will work closely with the current Technical Manager to gain in-depth knowledge of design processes, manufacturing and quality systems, product ranges, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities Manage the quality assurance system and liaise with partner companies and suppliers (including some overseas travel) Provide technical input for customer enquiries and match materials/products to application needs Investigate and respond to customer complaints, including material testing and site visits Produce manufacturing specifications for new products and support structural analysis work Collaborate with Marketing to develop technical content and promotional material Research new applications, materials, and product opportunities to expand the company knowledge base Key Skills & Experience Experience in ceramics manufacturing or a similar industrial environment (essential) Understanding of mechanical and thermal properties of ceramics/engineering materials;
