About the OpportunityESD Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading UK demolition and deconstruction contractor delivering complex projects within highly regulated environments, including the nuclear and infrastructure sectors.
The business is recognised for its strong safety culture, technical expertise, and ability to successfully deliver major, long-term, site-based works.
Role OverviewThe Technical Co-ordinator plays a central role in the planning, administration, and coordination of demolition projects. Acting as a key communication link between Directors, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Site Supervisors, subcontractors, and external bodies, this role ensures projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and on programme.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all service disconnections, isolations, diversions, and adaptations
- Coordinate planning, liaison, and logistics with statutory providers and subcontractors
- Arrange and manage all required permissions and permits with local authorities
- Coordinate site mobilisation and permitting activities
- Track project milestones and critical deadlines
- Arrange and manage site security requirements
- Coordinate site testing regimes in line with project specifications
- Identify suitable waste facilities and arrange testing for waste disposal and material movements
- Support multiple live sites by monitoring activity and progress
- Assist with developing project timelines, work plans, and programmes
- Support Project Managers and Planners with scheduling and coordination
- Prepare and manage regulatory documentation and permits
- Maintain hazardous materials records, safety documentation, and service disconnection confirmations
- Coordinate asbestos surveys, sampling, and material testing in line with legislation
- Act as a liaison between internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and external stakeholders
- Coordinate suppliers, waste contractors, and recycling providers
- Arrange and attend site meetings and inspections
- Assist with budgets, invoicing, bids, and tender submissions
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Good understanding of demolition and construction processes
- Knowledge of environmental and hazardous materials regulations
- Strong IT and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal ability
- Experience with in demolition, construction, or environmental remediation
NEBOSH or relevant NVQ safety qualification (desirable)
