Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a leading planning and development consultancy in their search for a Planning Consultant to join their established team in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the public and private sectors, supporting the delivery of planning applications, policy advice, and development strategy work within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As a Planning Consultant, you will:

Support the preparation and submission of planning applications and supporting documents

Provide planning advice to clients on development proposals and planning strategy

Assist with planning appraisals, feasibility studies, and site assessments

Engage with local planning authorities, stakeholders, and project teams

Contribute to planning appeals, Local Plan representations, and policy reviews

Support senior colleagues in the delivery of complex planning projects

About You

To be successful as a Planning Consultant, you will have:

A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline

RTPI membership or working towards MRTPI status

Experience with in a planning consultancy or local authority environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

A proactive and organised approach to managing workload
