Senior P6 Planner

Summary:

The Senior P6 Planner (Integration) plays a pivotal role within the Programme Controls function, supporting the transition from project-by-project delivery to a programme-based approach. This role focuses on developing, maintaining, and integrating robust, logic-driven schedules across multiple projects and partner packages to ensure a coherent and efficient delivery programme. The planner will identify and manage milestones, interdependencies, and critical paths, ensuring compliance with planning standards and Standard Operating Procedures.

Acting as a key interface between partners and stakeholders, the Senior Planner will provide guidance, assurance, and challenge to maintain schedule integrity and support decision-making. The role requires strong collaboration skills to coordinate scope, schedule updates, risk and opportunity analysis, and compensation event impacts, while fostering consistent planning practices across the programme.

Skills:

Extensive hands-on experience with Primavera P6
Proven ability to develop and maintain multi-disciplined, integrated project schedules
Strong understanding of planning and scheduling techniques, including critical path analysis
Experience in managing interdependencies and interfaces across multiple projects/packages
Ability to interrogate, challenge, and optimise schedules for efficiencies
Knowledge of design, consenting, and environmental phasing for linear infrastructure projects
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience in schedule risk and opportunity analysis
Ability to work autonomously and develop schedules from limited information
Ambassador for planning standards and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures
Software/Tools:

Primavera P6 (essential)
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Certifications & Standards:

Degree or Master’s qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance, Construction, Engineering or related discipline (essential)
Familiarity with programme controls and planning standards (e.g. NEC, APM) desirable
