Role OverviewAsset Information System Specialist – System Administrator for the bespoke digital Asset Information Register – AIMS, within the Digital Engineering function.
Act as the technical backbone of the asset information system, ensuring stability, usability, and fit for purpose as thousands of new assets enter operation.
Technical system support and administration role, collaborating closely with users, contractors, and the external software provider. Focus on maintaining a mature asset information system, enhancing usage, and enabling contractor data integration.
Essential Qualifications- Experience supporting or administering an asset information system, CAFM or CMMS (e.g., Maximo).
- Understanding of system integration, web services and data flows between systems.
- Experience working in an asset‑intensive environment (rail, utilities, infrastructure, defence, transport, etc.).
- Confidence engaging with users, suppliers and technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with systems such as Maximo, SAP, Oracle Asset Management or similar.
- Power BI, Power Query or Tableau experience.
- Rail or major infrastructure project exposure.
