Project Controller – Birmingham

You will take ownership of controlling cost, schedule and risk across complex defence programmes, with a clear line of sight between data and decision making. This role gives you influence, progression and the opportunity to strengthen your project controls capability within regulated environments.

What you will need

• British nationality is required and applicants must have been born in the UK.

• Experience working on UK defence programmes or within defence delivery environments.

• Strong capability in project controls covering planning and scheduling, cost management or risk management.

• Confidence operating within structured governance and assurance frameworks.

Salary and rewards
£50,000 to £70,000 plus car allowance.

What you will be doing

• Controlling project performance across cost, schedule and risk for defence programmes.

• Developing and maintaining integrated schedules and forecasts to support delivery decisions.

• Supporting cost control, earned value management and performance reporting activities.

• Identifying and analysing risks and opportunities to inform mitigation planning.

• Producing clear dashboards and insight for programme and senior stakeholders.

Your experience

• Background in project controls, cost engineering, planning or risk management roles.

• Practical experience with planning tools such as Primavera P6 or equivalent.

• Exposure to cost control, forecasting, earned value or quantitative risk analysis.

• Experience working in defence, infrastructure, engineering or complex delivery settings.

• Ability to translate data into clear insight for non-technical stakeholders.
