O&M Engineer/SAP(High Voltage)
Based:
Midlands, UK + UK Travel

£40,000 – £50,000 + Overtime + Company Vehicle + Private Medical

We’re hiring on behalf of a leading privately owned ICP with a strong presence in the new connections and renewables sector. This is a permanent position based in the Midlands, within a business that puts training, safety, and quality of work front and centre.

The company ensures all engineers are equipped with the training, qualifications, and hands‑on experience they need to succeed — safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspection and maintenance of LV/HV substation equipment

  • Protection testing

  • HV/LV jointing and cable terminations

  • Troubleshooting and fault finding

  • Installation of switch gear and transformers

  • Testing of earthing systems and associated equipment

  • Producing remedial works quotations

  • Compiling work packages, job instructions and RAMS

  • Coordinating technicians, craftspeople, and subcontractors

  • Managing resource allocation across projects

  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders to manage project expectations and deliverables

  • Ensuring projects meet technical and safety requirements

  • Planning and executing HV switching and isolations up to 33kV

  • Issuing permits and documentation per company and customer safety rules

  • Testing systems, analysing results, and compiling reports

You’ll ideally bring:
  • HNC in Electrical Engineering (preferably in Power Distribution)

  • Experience with
    private networks and/or the renewable energy sector

  • Familiarity with current Health & Safety legislation

  • GWO Certification (for onshore wind farms) (optional)

  • Emergency First Aid & Manual Handling

  • A full, clean UK driving licence

  • Strong IT and organisational skill
