Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager – Turner & Townsend

Join our dynamic team in the Midlands to support major infrastructure projects that shape the world. You will work on airports, utilities and transport infrastructure while growing your career with a leading global consultancy.

Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial contracts, procurement and negotiations in a NEC environment.
  • Lead post‑contract commercial activities, including payment approvals, cost assessments and contract changes.
  • Support contractors with transparent, data‑driven cost management.
  • Identify cost‑saving strategies and optimise contract performance.
  • Provide cost management insights to support key decision‑making.
  • Support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances.
  • Comply with commercial, procurement and contractual strategies and quality standards.
  • Operate processes for selection, appointment and management of construction and engineering contractors.
  • Prepare and issue tender documents and run competitive tender processes.
  • Scrutinise and verify interim payment applications and manage change control.
  • Produce cost reports, forecasting and support early‑warning management.
  • Attend progress meetings and promote commercial awareness throughout the project.
  • Support formal dispute resolution and contract close‑out strategy.
Qualifications
  • Degree qualified and working towards or already have chartered status.
  • Experience in large‑scale infrastructure Quantity Surveying and Estimating.
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and cost management best practices.
  • Proactive problem‑solving mindset and ability to adapt to challenges.
  • Strong commercial awareness and data‑driven decision making.
