Opportunity

You will work on the Great Grid Partnership with National Grid for the next 10 years. Initially you will support the GGP Core Service team in commercial, procurement and finance. As the programme progresses into Early Contractor Involvement you will provide commercial support and management for GGP project delivery.

The Person

The successful candidate will join a passionate team and be commercially astute and delivery focused, ideally with experience of energy projects.

Qualifications And Experience
  • Educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) and working towards professional membership (e.g. RICS/CIOB).
  • Experience of a Contract Management System (CEMAR, Fast Draft, etc.).
  • Supervisory/management experience within a project commercial team.
  • NEC 3 or 4 experience essential.
  • 5–10 years’ experience, capable of managing a small team and reporting to a more senior member for strategic and management guidance.
Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial expertise to aid delivery of contracted work and lead the commercial team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely commercial reports and advice to the management team, achieving commercial targets.
  • Manage subcontract procurement, management and final account resolution.
  • Supervise junior project commercial staff.
  • Deliver and account for internal and external project commercial targets.
  • Engage with project stakeholders, including client commercial team.
  • Maintain compliance with approved processes, project executive plans and collaborative management plans.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement of functional quality and performance of Quantity Surveying.
  • Manage change control processes both upstream and downstream.
