SHEQ Advisor VEA Telecoms

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £35,000 £ 42,000 per annum

VEA Telecoms is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable SHEQ Advisor to support our operations across multiple sites and projects. This is a key role ensuring that our teams work safely, our projects meet regulatory requirements, and our business continues to deliver excellence.

Overview

As a SHEQ Advisor, you will champion Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards across the organisation. You will conduct audits, guide management on best practices, maintain compliance, and support the development of a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct audits and site inspections to ensure compliance with legislation, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Enforce adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation, protecting both individuals and the company.
  • Advise management on relevant legislation and SHEQ best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Assist in monitoring SHEQ performance, incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
  • Deliver training and awareness programmes to staff across the business.
  • Maintain and support ISO management systems.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date with legislative changes, industry standards, and evolving best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent (essential).
  • Proven experience in site audits, inspections, and SHEQ advisory roles.
  • Working knowledge of CDM
    2015 (Principal Contractor), Working at Height legislation, and Streetworks regulations.
  • Strong report writing, communication, and advisory skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage staff at all organisational levels.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
