Fibre Field Engineer - OTDR Testing & Fault Finding

Field based covering a midlands patch – based in the Birmingham area.

Excellent salary + company vehicle, fuel card, on‑call, overtime, superb pension, 25 days holiday, life assurance.

Mon‑Fri with an on‑call rota.

Do you have experience of maintenance and fault finding on FTTH (Fibre to the Home) networks and are you looking to join a company with a clear plan to progress and develop your career over the coming years?

To apply you must be able to use an OTDR tester (including analysis of results) and have fault‑finding experience, rather than purely installation experience. This is tested at interview stage (e.g. OTDR graphs) so please only apply if you are confident of success.

This position comes with a healthy basic salary that can be considerably topped up via on‑call allowance, overtime, and regular salary reviews.

This is a field based position working a regional patch providing maintenance and incident response for events such as broadband, telephone and TV reception service faults in customer premises.

• Full time, permanent field based role across a regional patch for a national utilities company.
• Optic fibre repair – working in customer premises, homes, offices, schools and also off‑site at the underground access network.
• Diagnosing on‑site faults to identify root cause and implementing the desired fix.

• Experience of FTTH networks.
• Fibre splicing and fault‑finding experience within GPON network.
• Able to use an OTDR and trace‑analyse the results to test and fault‑find – ESSENTIAL AND TESTED AT INTERVIEW SO ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT OF SUCCESS.
• Full UK driver’s licence and CSCS card.
