Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
We are an independent school located in Birmingham, UK, catering to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Our school provides a supportive and inclusive environment for students to thrive academically and personally. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher SME to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons for students with SEMH/ASC needs
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to support student learning and progress
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being and academic success
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support to students and their parents/carers
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans for students
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behaviour, and academic progress
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns or issues
- Participate in school events and activities, including parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and professional development sessions
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience teaching Maths to students with SEMH/ASC needs is highly desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of SEMH/ASC and the ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willingness to participate in school events and activities outside of regular school hours
