Job Overview
Hays Education are supporting a local Special Needs school in recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start working with them as soon as possible. This role is to cover a vacancy and will continue till the end of the summer term and possibly beyond. The successful temporary candidate would be welcome to apply for the permanent role. The school is located in east Birmingham, not far from the city centre, and describe themselves as a focussed and dedicated school who have young people at the centre of their ethos.
The school caters for children at KS2 and KS3 level with social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH).
- The role entails supporting primary aged pupils in class who have SEMH and some other additional s.
- The school will support with training to candidates who may not have experience of working in these kinds of settings.
- Hays Education will be able to obtain recent satisfactory references that reflect this experience.
- The school is able to offer Team Teach to all new members of staff currently in post and looks forward to welcoming a new addition to the team.
- Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and SEMH.
- Demonstrated key competencies of working with children with SEMH and de-escalation techniques.
