We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a versatile and highly effective individual to join our senior leadership team as an Assistant Head Teacher.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a core subject or whole‑school development, bringing an excellent classroom track record, an organisational and dynamic approach, and a desire to positively impact students’ life chances through a holistic and strategic rationale.
The children, governors and staff of our happy, hardworking, friendly and inclusive school seek an outstanding and knowledgeable leader for the position of Assistant Head Teacher from 01st September 2026 (or sooner if possible).
Key Responsibilities- Lead a core subject across the school.
- Work with the SENCO in leading a Pastoral Team.
- Lead the development and implementation of the school's behaviour policy and systems.
- Lead the strategic development of parental engagement, ensuring parents and carers are active partners in their children's learning and well‑being.
- Teach classes/groups for up to 0.6 responsibility.
Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent understanding of the National Curriculum as it relates to core and foundation subjects, SEND and other statutory guidance.
- Ability to liaise effectively with pupils, colleagues, parents and outside agencies.
- Ability to lead, review, develop and implement policy change.
- Confidence to lead on staff training and professional development.
- Inspirational and excellent classroom practitioner.
- High expectations of children's achievements and behaviour.
- Keen to learn and develop skills.
- Excellent knowledge of supporting the needs of all children including those with SEND.
- Positive, enthusiastic staff committed to achieving the best for all pupils.
- Caring and creative atmosphere achieving high standards.
- Bright, well‑resourced and maintained school with excellent teaching and learning environment.

All applicants must hold GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English; a degree or equivalent teaching qualification; and a high standard of literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
