SEMH Teaching Assistant

Overview

SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a specialist provision in Kings Norton. This is a full‑time role starting ASAP. Pay rate: £88.94‑£105.00 per day. Agency:
Aspire People.

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support within an SEMH setting
• Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour support
• Help pupils regulate emotions and engage positively in learning
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students
• Support with EHCP targets and behaviour plans
• Contribute to a safe, structured, and nurturing environment

• Experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or SEN
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
• Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
