We have an exciting opportunity, and are seeking to appoint a versatile and highly effective individual to join our senior leadership team, as an Assistant Head Teacher.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a core subject or whole school development. You will be organised, dynamic and hardworking as well as having an excellent track record within the classroom. You will have a desire to positively impact students’ life chances through a holistic and strategic rationale.

The children, governors and staff of our happy, hardworking, friendly and inclusive school seek to appoint an outstanding and knowledgeable leader to the position of Assistant Head Teacher from 01st September 2026 (or sooner if possible). The successful candidate will join a strong leadership team and a committed staff.

Candidates must have:
  • an excellent understanding of the National Curriculum as it relates to core and foundation subjects, SEND and other statutory guidance
  • an ability to effectively liaise with pupils, colleagues, parents and outside agencies
  • an ability to lead, review, develop and implement policy change
  • confidence to lead on staff training and professional development
  • be both an inspirational and excellent classroom practitioner
  • have high expectations of children’s achievements and behaviour
  • be keen to learn and develop their skills
  • an excellent knowledge of supporting the needs of all children including those with SEND
Main areas of responsibility will include:
  • leading a core subject across the school
  • to work with the SENCO in leading a Pastoral Team
  • lead the development and implementation of the school’s behaviour policy and systems
  • lead the strategic development of parental engagement, ensuring parents and carers are active partners in their children’s learning and well-being
  • teaching classes / groups for up to 0.6
