About the RoleAs a Learning Mentor at Kingsland, you will provide vital 1:1 and group support to pupils facing barriers to learning, helping them to overcome challenges and succeed academically and personally. You will work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, families, and external agencies to:
- Identify pupils who would benefit most from mentoring support
- Develop and implement tailored action plans to meet individual needs
- Build trusting relationships with pupils to support their confidence and progress
- Maintain regular communication with families and carers to foster positive involvement
- Coordinate with community and business mentors to enrich pupil support networks
This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on children’s lives, helping them to build resilience, motivation, and skills for lifelong success.

- Has experience working successfully with children and young people on a one-to-one basis
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
- Communicates confidently and with empathy, helping children identify their needs and strengths
- Understands how to assess barriers to learning and plan effective support strategies
- Is committed to promoting inclusion, equality, and safeguarding at all times
- Is motivated by making a real difference in children’s lives and eager to develop professionally
