Phonics Lead

Phonics Lead | Southwark | September Start Are you an experienced Primary Teacher with a strong background in early reading? A primary school in Southwark is seeking a Phonics Lead to take responsibility for the teaching and development of phonics across EYFS and Key Stage 1 from September. This role would suit a confident classroom practitioner who has a clear understanding of systematic synthetic phonics and a track record of improving early reading outcomes.

Alongside class teaching responsibilities, you will lead on phonics provision across the school, supporting staff, monitoring standards and ensuring consistency in delivery. Phonics Lead

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee the teaching of phonics across EYFS and KS1 Support and coach staff to ensure consistent practice Monitor pupil progress and lead early reading interventions Organise phonics assessments and track outcomes Work with SLT to raise standards in early reading

Person Specification:

QTS and experience teaching in EYFS or KS1 Strong knowledge of systematic synthetic phonics Experience leading a subject or key area (desirable) Clear understanding of phonics screening expectations Why Apply?
