About the Role:
Teacher Active is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Year 2 teacher for a temporary maternity cover position at a welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Longbridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Key Stage 1 teacher to join a supportive school community and make a real difference during a crucial stage of children’s learning.

The position begins in September 2025 and is expected to continue until the end of the academic year (July 2026), with potential for extension depending on the school's future needs. This is a full-time role delivered through Teacher Active.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum, with a focus on Year 2.

Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

Track and assess pupils’ progress, providing clear and effective feedback.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency and high standards across the school.

Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.

Maintain excellent classroom management to support a calm and productive learning space.

Person Specification:
We are looking for a Year 2 teacher who:

Holds QTS and has proven experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2.

Is passionate about education and committed to supporting children’s development.

Demonstrates strong behaviour management and effective communication skills.

Is flexible, organised, and confident in delivering the national curriculum.

Has experience working with pupils of varying abilities and learning needs.

Is available to work full-time for the duration of the maternity cover.
