Teacher Active are working closely with a friendly and supportive Primary School in North Birmingham, who are looking to appoint a Year 1 Teacher on a full-time basis (5 days per week).

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher who enjoys delivering engaging lessons, supporting pupils during the crucial transition from EYFS to KS1, and taking full ownership of their classroom responsibilities.

The Role:

The successful candidate will take on the full responsibilities of a class teacher, including:

Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality Year 1 lessons

Assessing, tracking, and supporting pupil progress

Creating a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Managing classroom behaviour effectively

Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and senior leaders

Communicating professionally with staff and parents where required

‍ The Ideal Candidate :

We are looking for a teacher who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Has experience teaching Year 1 (desirable but not essential)

Is confident planning and delivering lessons independently

Is happy to work through Teacher Active and be paid via PAYE

Is organised, reliable, and committed to high standards of teaching

Is open to applying if they are an ECT looking to build strong KS1 experience

✅ Compliance Requirements:

A DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new Enhanced DBS through Teacher Active

Ability to provide two professional references, ideally from recent school-based roles
