Long-term, Temp to Perm Long Term Futures is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor for a primary school in Selly Oak, Birmingham, rated OFSTED Good. This is a consistent, full-time role supporting a Year 3 pupil with SEMH needs who requires high-level behaviour support. The role will be challenging, so strong behaviour management experience, resilience, and consistency are essential. There is potential for a permanent placement for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 behaviour support for a Year 3 pupil with SEMH needs
Implement behaviour management strategies and positive behaviour plans
Support emotional regulation and de-escalation strategies
Maintain consistent boundaries and routines throughout the school day
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and pastoral team
Support access to learning within the classroom and during transitions
Record observations and contribute to behaviour reviews and support plans
Requirements:
Proven experience in behaviour management (essential)
Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs
Strong resilience and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
Confidence using de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies
Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
