ESOL Tutor; English Speakers of Languages

Position: ESOL Tutor (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

Are you passionate about working 1:1 or in small groups?

Teacher Active is proud to be working with an institution who are looking for a friendly and supportive ESOL Tutor to work with learners in Birmingham, 2 days per week. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact in their community—no teaching qualifications required.

What you’ll be doing :

Supporting small groups or individuals as they develop their English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
Creating a warm, encouraging learning environment
Using simple, practical activities to build confidence
Helping learners apply English in real‑life situations

What we’re looking for:

A good level of spoken and written English
Someone patient, understanding, and happy to guide learners at different levels
Any previous ESOL, tutoring, or mentoring experience is a bonus—but not essential
A positive attitude and willingness to help people from a variety of backgrounds
