Hair & Beauty Teacher - SEN School

We are a specialist teaching agency currently recruiting a Hair and Beauty Teacher to work in a well‑established SEN school in Birmingham, delivering Entry Level 1-3 Hair and Beauty to pupils with a range of additional needs.
About the SchoolThe school is a purpose‑driven SEN setting that supports pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, communication needs, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support, and commitment to helping pupils develop life skills and independence alongside their academic and vocational learning.
The curriculum is highly practical and vocational, designed to engage learners and prepare them for further education, training, or employment. Hair and Beauty plays an important role within the school, offering students the opportunity to build confidence, self‑care skills, teamwork, and employability skills in a structured and supportive environment.
Class sizes are small, and lessons are supported by experienced teaching assistants, allowing staff to provide individualised support and adapt learning to suit each pupil's ability level. The school benefits from well‑equipped Hair and Beauty facilities, enabling students to gain hands‑on experience in a safe and controlled setting.

The Role- Deliver engaging Hair and Beauty lessons at Entry Level 1-3
- Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of SEN needs
- Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
- Support pupils with both practical and theoretical elements of the subject
- Track pupil progress and contribute to individual learning plans
- Work collaboratively with support staff and senior leaders
- Experience teaching or delivering Hair and Beauty (qualification preferred)
- At least 6 months' experience working with children in the UK
- Experience working within an SEN setting (highly desirable)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Patient, flexible, and resilient approach to teaching
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
