We believe every child deserves to feel safe, understood, and supported. Many young people face emotional or mental health challenges that can make school feel overwhelming — and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for someone caring, patient, and passionate about making a difference in children’s lives. If you’re someone who can listen with empathy and bring calm, warmth, and encouragement to a child’s day, we’d love to welcome you to our team.

About the Role

As a Mental Health Support Worker in primary schools
, you’ll be a steady and reassuring presence for children who may be finding things difficult. You’ll work closely with pupils, teachers, and families to help young people build confidence, learn coping strategies, and feel supported emotionally and socially.

Your work will make school a safer, happier place for children who need that extra bit of understanding.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Offering 1:1 emotional and wellbeing support to children who may be struggling.
  • Running small group sessions focused on confidence, emotional regulation, friendship skills, or resilience.
  • Helping children identify and express their feelings in a safe, gentle way.
  • Supporting teachers with strategies to help children manage challenges in the classroom.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and school staff.
  • Keeping clear, sensitive notes and contributing to support plans when needed.
  • Being someone, children know they can rely on — calm, kind, and always ready to listen.
About You

We’re looking for someone who has a genuine passion for helping children thrive. You’ll be a great fit if you are:

  • Warm, patient, and naturally able to make children feel safe and comfortable.
  • A great listener with strong communication skills.
  • Calm under pressure and able to support children during emotional moments.
  • Creative and able to engage children through play, conversation, or activities.
  • Confident working independently but also happy collaborating with teachers and staff.
  • Passionate about promoting children's mental health and wellbeing.

Experience working with children or in mental health is helpful, but not essential — the right attitude and heart truly matter.

What We Offer You
  • A supportive, friendly team who value your wellbeing.
  • Full training, guidance, and ongoing professional development.
  • Opportunities to specialise in children’s mental health.
  • Work that genuinely changes children’s lives for the better.
  • Dedicated consultant and ongoing communication
