Contract: Full-time, long-term – full academic year

Pay: In line with scale

Hours: Monday to Friday, school hours

We are currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced teaching assistant to work on a full-time, long-term basis at a welcoming primary school located in the Aston area of Birmingham. The role will be based within a Year 5 class supporting students.

This teaching assistant role will run for the full academic year and offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, values-led school environment that places pupils at the heart of everything it does.

As a teaching assistant
, you will:
  • Work within a Year 5 Class
  • Deliver intervention group work to support attainment and progress
  • Provide classroom support under the direction of the class teacher
  • Support pupils with varying abilities, including those needing additional support
  • Help maintain a positive, engaging learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other teaching assistants
Requirements
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (ideal)
  • If no qualification, a minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a school is essential
  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant in a primary school setting
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills

    Commitment to supporting children’s learning and development
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
