Job Summary
Senior Clinical Fellow in Foot and Ankle Surgery at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The post commences from 03 February 2026. Applicants should have grounding in Foot and Ankle surgery and ideally have FRCS or equivalent. The post provides specialist training for individuals who have completed a UK training programme with CCT or an equivalent international training programme. The fellow will gain intensive hands-on surgical training in Foot and Ankle surgery, with exposure to newer procedures under NICE guidance such as sinus tarsi implant application and percutaneous bunion surgery, in addition to arthroscopic fusions, complex osteotomies and joint replacements in the foot and ankle.
The fellow may attend meetings of the Heart of England Foot and Ankle Society (open to consultant Foot and Ankle surgeons in the region).

Salary
: £65,048 to £73,992 per year.

Working pattern
:
Full-time.
The fellow will have opportunities to undertake extra independent supervised operating lists and attend outpatient clinics. There will be opportunities to undertake research and audits, and involvement in ongoing or new research projects will be a major part of the post. The post holder will be expected to undertake presentations and produce publications based on their work. All aspects of Elective Foot & Ankle Surgery including Paediatric Foot and Ankle problems are undertaken.
The current schedule does not include involvement in Paediatric Clinics, but this can be arranged by request. Attachments will be agreed at interview and aligned with the Fellow's interests and training needs. The fellow will also be able to undertake research and will need to organise bi-monthly case discussions and provide teaching for medical students.

Experience
- Registrar-level experience in Foot & Ankle surgery within a centre specialised for F&A
- Significant experience as an orthopaedic trainee/SpR
- Proven experience in orthopaedic surgery
