Overview

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a locum Obstetric Consultant with a specialist interest in Fetal Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and ambitious team at our Birmingham Women’s Hospital site which has 7,400 births per year. We are looking for someone who is Ambitious, Brave and Compassionate and with a commitment to continually improve our services, which have been rated green by the CQC.

This post is advertised as full-time, however applicants wishing to be considered for a position with fewer sessions are welcome to apply. The post holder will be part of the Obstetric and Fetal medicine service, working closely with colleagues in the direct team and across the fetal medicine network.

Responsibilities

This job will consist of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week as an annualised contract. The job plan includes on call duties as part of a 1 in 14 rota. The successful applicant will be based within the fetal medicine teams joining our established team of expert obstetricians.

The successful candidate will be expected to be aware of local policies and procedures and to comply with the Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions of the Trust. Where the Consultant manages employees of the Trust, they will be expected to observe the local employment and personnel policies and procedures.

Parkview Clinic is a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) facility in Moseley, for young people aged 11-18 years who require admission due to significant psychiatric difficulties.
