Overview
The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is seeking to recruit a Senior Fellow in Young Adult Hip Surgery from August 2026 for a 6- to 12-month period to increase capacity and improve delivery of high-quality surgery to patients referred from General Practitioners, Triage services and other Secondary or Tertiary care providers. At the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, you would join the Young Adult Hip group within the Large Joints department.
The current team comprises 11 colleagues with 3 having a particular interest in the management of Young Adult Hip conditions. The post-holder is expected to have a predominant interest in Young Adult Hip and Hip Preservation surgery, including hip arthroscopy, pelvic/femoral osteotomy and complex arthroplasty surgery focusing on femoroacetabular impingement, hip dysplasia, traumatic soft tissue hip conditions or sequelae of paediatric hip pathology (e.g., Perthes disease or SUFE), including arthroplasty in cases with complex anatomy.
A flexible approach to working with colleagues and other members of the Multidisciplinary team is expected to maximise efficiency within the department. The department undertakes a comprehensive range of hip and knee surgical procedures. It is intended that the appointee will have a particular interest in Young Adult Hip Surgery, so appropriate demonstration of quality fellowship training is essential.
