Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist at Parkview Clinic, Tier 4 Inpatient CAMHS Service This is a full-time 10 PA post in inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

We are excited to announce that we have an excellent opportunity and are seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate for our vacant CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist post on a permanent contract. The suitable applicant will join our CAMHS In-patient service at Parkview Clinic in Moseley, Birmingham and we are looking to welcome a new colleague to join our enthusiastic, motivated and supportive inpatient mental health service.

The suitable applicant will be responsible for treating children and young adults up to the age of 18 at Parkview Clinic. As part of our ongoing commitment to improving services we have a brand new state of the art 14 bedded GAU and have recently completed a refurbishment of our 8 bedded unit. We also provide a 12 bedded Specialist Eating Disorder unit.

The post holder will provide senior specialist psychiatric input and medical leadership within an established multidisciplinary in-patient team and have a central role in delivering psychiatric assessment and treatment for in-patients and their families, as well as contributing to providing psychiatric & medical risk management. The consultant psychiatrist will support the in-patient team, medical lead and other professional leads with quality improvement & clinical governance activities.

Main

duties of the job

The post holder will be required to hold overall clinical/medical responsibility and review patients at a frequency according to their clinical need and risks.

Provide direct psychiatric services through the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.

Provide psychiatric leadership to the multidisciplinary teams and clinical leadership in collaboration with the team leaders.

The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act.

The post holder will be required to be approved under Section 12 (2) and have Approved Clinician status of the Mental Health Act, to be able to undertake assessments and use the Mental Health Act as appropriate.

Flexibility to shape and respond to changing service requirements.

To participate in service and business planning activity for the Business and, as appropriate, for the whole Mental Health Service.
