Position: Salaried GP ARR - Wychall Lane Surgery

Job Summary

The post-holder will manage a caseload and provide primary‑care services across a Primary Care Network of one GP practice. The role includes surgery and telephone consultations, home visits, administration and compliance with contract requirements (GMS, PMS, enhanced services, DES). The position is fixed‑term until 31/03/2026 with a part‑time pattern of four sessions a week.

About Us

Our Health Partnership (OHP) is a GP partnership of 29 practices with 38 surgeries, serving around 280,000 patients in Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Shropshire. The post will be based at Wychall Lane Surgery, Birmingham.

Pay & Conditions

Salary: £9,000 per session
Contract: Fixed term, 12 months
Working pattern: Part‑time, 4 sessions a week

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide surgery, telephone and home‑visit consultations
  • Triage patients via telephone, online and in person
  • Make autonomous clinical decisions for presenting problems
  • Assess and manage undifferentiated and undiagnosed patients - Screen for disease risk factors - Develop care plans in line with disease‑management protocols - Promote healthy lifestyles and education
  • Manage long‑term conditions and complex cases
  • Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
  • Collect data for audit and comply with QOF requirements
  • Deliver enhanced services and process test results
  • Refer patients to secondary care or other PCN members as required
  • Issue prescriptions following the practice formulary and clinical guidelines
  • Perform standard GP duties within the PCN network
Qualifications & Experience
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • Full registration with GMC
  • Certification of Completion of Training (JCPTGP/PMETB)
  • Inclusion on Performers List
  • Experience of primary care through the GP Vocational Training Scheme
  • Understanding of General Practice Services and PCNs
  • Knowledge of NHS policies and local/ national prescribing guidelines
  • UK driving licence and availability to work on Mondays

  • Strong time management and the ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • IT proficiency (word processing, database work)

  • Adaptability and willingness to explore alternative working practices
Additional Requirements
