About the RoleDue to rapid expansion, we are looking for an experienced CAD Designer to join our growing design team. If you have 5+ years of industry experience and a passion for precision and jewellery design, we would love to hear from you.
The successful candidate will be confident in producing high-quality CAD models quickly and efficiently using Matrix Gold software, and in training junior CAD designers to a high standard.
A strong understanding of designing for jewellery manufacturing and mass production is essential, ensuring designs are both technically accurate and production-ready.
You will play a key role in transforming design briefs into detailed, manufacturable designs while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship and efficiency.
Responsibilities- Create one-off bespoke designs, alongside designs suitable for moulding and mass production.
- Produce CAD files for manufacturing by following detailed design briefs.
- Create manufacturing renders, technical drawings, and photorealistic renders for website use.
- Communicate with customers via email or phone when design or manufacturing advice is required.
- Work closely with the finishing workshop to ensure CAD files are accurate for mounting and setting.
- Organise customer files and folders with corresponding references and tracking information.
- Occasionally meet customers in person to provide design and manufacturing advice.
- Liaise with other departments and team members when orders involve multiple processes.
- Assist in training junior CAD designers.
- 5+ years’ industry experience
- Excellent knowledge of Matrix / Matrix Gold
- Strong understanding of jewellery production and manufacturing for the trade
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to communicate efficiently and confidently within a team and with customers
- Ability to train and mentor junior CAD designers
- Knowledge of CAD file preparation for 3D printing would be advantageous
- Strong organisational skills
