Senior Architect - Commercial & Sports Projects —
Location:
Birmingham — Salary:
Up to £70,000 + comprehensive benefits package
We are seeking an experienced and design-driven Senior Architect to join our Birmingham studio, specialising in large-scale commercial and sports-led projects. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of high-profile developments, working from concept through to completion within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
You will lead project teams, interface directly with clients and stakeholders, and contribute to the strategic growth of our commercial and sports portfolio across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and delivery of complex commercial and sports projects across all RIBA stages
- Take ownership of projects, ensuring design quality, technical excellence, and programme delivery
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors
- Manage and mentor junior architects and architectural staff
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and oversee consultant input
- Prepare and review planning, tender, and construction documentation
- Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, planning policy, and industry standards
- Contribute to bid submissions, presentations, and client interviews
- ARB registered Architect with strong post-qualification experience
- Proven background in commercial and/or sports architecture (stadia, arenas, training facilities, mixed-use developments, etc.)
- Strong design capability supported by excellent technical knowledge
- Experience leading projects and teams on large-scale developments
- Proficiency in Revit (essential); experience with BIM workflows advantageous
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Strong understanding of UK construction methods, procurement routes, and regulations
- Salary up to £70,000, dependent on experience
